Why Bliss Cupcake Café?

Sick of working for ‘The Man’ and ready to be at a place where smiles are a dime a dozen? Those are just two reasons owning your own Bliss Cupcake Café might be the leap of faith you have been waiting to take.

Bliss is the anti-DMV. People are excited as all get out to stop by their favorite Bliss to drool over the cupcakes we make from scratch daily. They come to celebrate birthdays, to grab cupcakes to make an impression with clients, as part of date night, or because it is Wednesday (or whatever day has their favorite flavor). You get the idea. Bliss is the place to be!

We value the customer experience greatly. At Bliss we deliver delectable treats with service as sweet as the cupcakes we bake. One without the other is not acceptable. Any time you walk in any Bliss you should expect both. If you are reading this, you have likely experienced what we are talking about…perhaps several times.

We are looking for franchisees that love a Red Velvet or Gluten Free Peanut Butter Brownie as much as we do. We want folks that want to share Bliss with their community all the while creating their own story.

9 Steps to Acquiring a Bliss Cupcake Café Franchise

  1. Fill out our Franchise Questionnaire online.
  2. A Bliss Cupcake Café franchising guru will thumb through your questionnaire and contact you to discuss the next steps.
  3. If we all agree to continue the courtship, we will meet for a mutual interview of sorts at a Bliss Cupcake Café in Northwest Arkansas. After we gorge ourselves on a plethora of Bliss cupcakes, we will both decide if we are a good fit for each other.
  4. You will submit a formal Franchise Application and financial documents so we can review your credit, criminal, financial, and general background information.
  5. Step Five involves us providing you with a current Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD).
  6. We will make a decision and inform you if you are approved or denied.
  7. If approved, you will make a return trip to Northwest Arkansas to sign all necessary documents and pay the initial
    franchise fee.
  8. We will review the program with you and award the franchise.
  9. A celebratory meal is had by all.

Frequently Asked Questions

This all sounds great, but I still have a few questions. We are glad you asked.

A standard Bliss Cupcake Café takes roughly $150,000-$175,000 to open, which includes the $30,000 franchising fee.

Our royalties begin at 4% of gross weekly sales the first year, 5% the second year, and 6% after that.

The development fund fee can be up to .5% of gross weekly sales. The development fund has been created to benefit all Bliss Cupcake Cafés and may be used for items like market studies, logo creation and modification, menu designs, contests, marketing, and website development.

The initial term is 10 years, with an additional 10-year term available if both parties agree.

There is not a hard and fast answer to this question, but typically a store can be ready to open in 60-120 days after a lease is executed. The quality of contractor can help or hinder this process significantly so can your preparedness or lack thereof.

While certainly a plus, we can take even the most novice baker among us and coach them up to be the best cupcake slinger around.

We require at least two of your bakers, which must include one owner, and you can bring up to four bakers, to spend two weeks learning the ins and outs in and around a Bliss Cupcake Café kitchen while learning how to bake our cupcakes from scratch. The initial training will take place in Northwest Arkansas. We will also send a minimum of one baker and one counter employee to assist you with opening week.

Absolutely! In fact, we hope you don’t get sick of our phone calls, text, emails, and on-site visits as we do our darnedest to set you up for success of owning your own Bliss Cupcake Café.
